Dendritic Agate is commonly found in Western Australia and is also sometimes referred to as Merlinite. This milky agate has a unique feature in the dendrites, the black branchlike inclusions that are scattered throughout the surface of the stone. These dendrites are caused by the mineral manganese. They are never the same and form a completely unique pattern in each piece. Dendritic agate is said to be a stone of abundance and one that is good for the protection of travelers. It is also said to be a stone that promotes self-examination and healing from emotional strain.
